Journal Monitor

Two tools in one place for 3,523 agricultural and allied science journals: look up any journal on the NAAS list, or any society journal NAAS has not yet scored, and see its NAAS score, Scopus, DOAJ, Crossref and open access status. Or paste the abstract of the paper you are writing and find the journals that publish work like yours.

About these indicators

Every figure here comes from a public source and can be checked independently. The page reports what each source records; it does not grade journals.

  • NAAS score: National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, list of scored journals effective 1 January 2026 (as published on naas.org.in on 27 Sep 2026: 2,985 entries covering 2,984 journals, since Research Journal of Biotechnology appears twice). NAAS notes that non-impact-factor ratings evaluated in 2023 stay valid until 31 December 2026 unless the journal gains a JCR Impact Factor.
  • Society journals not on the NAAS list: journals in agriculture and allied fields (crops, horticulture, plant protection, soil, forestry, animal and veterinary science, fisheries, food science) whose publisher or owning organisation is a learned society, association or academy, drawn from Scopus subject categories, DOAJ agriculture subjects and Crossref journal titles, with every ISSN on the NAAS list removed. A few journals outside these rules, such as MycoAsia, have been added on request. Society ownership is read from the publisher names these sources record, so a society journal issued under a commercial imprint may be missed. Inclusion is not an endorsement.
  • Scopus: Elsevier Scopus source title list, August 2026 release. Matched on print or online ISSN.
  • DOAJ: Directory of Open Access Journals public data dump of 27 August 2026.
  • Crossref: live Crossref REST API, queried 27 Sep 2026. Metadata shares are the proportion of a journal's registered records that carry each field. Records without a valid publication year are left out of the year chart.
  • Open access: "Open" means listed in DOAJ, or at least 90% of articles published since January 2024 carry a Creative Commons licence in Crossref (up to the 1,000 most recent articles checked). "Partly open" means 10% to 89% (typical of hybrid journals), or, where Crossref has no licence data, that Scopus flags free-to-read articles through Unpaywall. Article charges come only from DOAJ records.
  • ISSN register: every ISSN was checked for a valid check digit. ISSNs not found in Scopus, DOAJ or Crossref were looked up individually in the ISSN Portal on 27 Sep 2026. Each journal links to its ISSN Portal record.
  • Not shown: Clarivate Journal Impact Factor and Web of Science status, which are not openly licensed. The UGC-CARE list was withdrawn by UGC in February 2025, so no CARE status is shown.

Corrections and journal reviews

A missing listing can mean an ISSN mismatch rather than a real absence. If a record looks wrong, write to us and we will check it against the source.
